Eswatini
The 2026 Lokhwishi bridge is now complete, connecting KaNdwandwa and Vusweni with a safe crossing of the Phophonyane River.
Built alongside our partners and the local community, it provides year-round access to schools, healthcare, and markets.

In partnership with Duke University, Eswatini’s longest EIA bridge over the Ingwavuma River was built, reconnecting the Emanyonyaneni and Nsizatje communities and restoring safe access for them while eliminating crossings that caused 4 injuries and 5 fatalities over the past three years.
Longest bridge built by EIA !

Our first project in Bolivia restored safe, year-round access to education, healthcare, and markets after the river was uncrossable for 150 days each year. By eliminating dangerous crossings, this project created lasting, life-changing impact for the community.

Designed and fully funded by sponsors, the Mbhonconco bridge restored safe river access for over 1,000 people and 2 communities in Eswatini. Despite COVID-19 delays, the project remained a committed priority with lasting community impact.
Enables year-round access to markets and healthcare

Our first mission, we partnered with the University of Colorado Boulder to build the bridge in Mathangeni, Eswatini, where unsafe river crossings had caused 8 fatalities in three years and left the community isolated for 90 days annually.
